Thanks for all the fish!

Hi everyone,

TLDR: MCJukebox is no longer maintained and it will be shut down over the coming months. Core parts of the infrastructure have already been taken offline which means the plugin will no longer function for existing users.

I continue to have only fond memories of the project. I built it during the Christmas holidays in 2015, and since then it has been downloaded over 46,000 times. I've loved seeing your creations from theme parks, to live shows, to games.

Compared to the last few years, usage recently was very low (from memory the last time I checked the stats, just a few players a week) and it is hard to justify spending time on. While I could keep it running with fairly low effort - and cost was never a problem - I would prefer to spend that time working on new projects.

I've said to a few people over the years that if I ever took the service down, I'd make sure to release the code. This is already the case for the Java plugin. I need to tidy up the rest of the code before releasing it but I still plan to keep that promise.

A huge thank you to everyone who has used or even donated to the project over the years. If you're looking for an alternative, the developers of OpenAudioMc were always friendly and I'd encourage you to give their plugin a try.

A big thank you to Joe, Stuart, Nick and Ewan. They all contributed in small ways to making the project happen and gave me someone to hang out with when working on new features.
